The M1911A1 was popular in film noir cinema and, appropriately, World War II movies, being wielded by such actors as Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, Mickey Spillane as his own character Mike Hammer, and more recently by Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter and Chris Evans as Captain America.
